Look at a screen. Start typing.

Gander reads which way your head is turned and moves keyboard focus to the window on the screen you are looking at. You do not click or press anything, and your pointer stays where it was.

Early preview. Free to try, and unsigned, so your system will ask you to confirm. The steps are in the download section.

Fig. 1Gander at work: the head turns, focus follows, the pointer stays.

You look at one screen and type into another.

Your eyes get there instantly. Your keyboard does not. So you reach for the mouse, drag across, click to wake the right window, and retype the first words that landed in the wrong place. Dozens of times a day, it adds up to a habit you stopped noticing.

Notes Browser
Fig. 2The old way: look, type, reach, click, retype.

Gander does the clicking for your eyes.

It reads which way your head is turned and, once you settle, hands keyboard focus to the window you last used on that display. Nothing on screen moves except focus.

  • The pointer never moves.
  • The window you last used, not a guess.
  • Pause or lock it with one shortcut.

Look. Settle. Type.

  1. Step 1

    Gander watches your head turn

The camera you already have reads which way your head is turned, and nothing else.

  2. Step 2

    You settle on another screen

A brief pause tells Gander you mean it, so a passing glance never switches anything.

  3. Step 3

    Focus follows your gaze

The last window you used on that display takes focus. The pointer stays exactly where it was.

Small, quiet, and yours.

  • On your device, only

Camera frames never leave your computer, and the app has no way to send them anywhere.

  • The pointer stays put

Focus moves. Your cursor does not. Nothing is clicked or typed for you.

  • Learns your screens

A short calibration maps where each monitor is. Tune the sensitivity if you like.

  • Focus Lock

One shortcut freezes switching when you want to stay where you are.

  • Steps aside for calls

When another app is using the camera, Gander pauses and gives it back.

  • Small and quiet

Lives in the menu bar on a Mac and the system tray on Windows, with no Dock icon and no dashboard to keep open.

Your camera never leaves your computer.

Gander runs entirely on your device. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing it could send, and you do not have to take our word for it.

  • The code has no network access: nothing to connect, nothing to send.
  • No video or images are saved. Frames are read and released.
  • The camera light goes off the moment you pause tracking.
  • A privacy check runs on every change and fails the build if networking or image saving ever appears.
